Our Find: Cara & The Sky

If a person could be a ray of sunshine, it would be Cara. She is the designer and founder of the colourful knitwear brand Cara & The Sky. She is an inspiration to many, and we are so happy we got to catch up with her!

Where is home to you?

Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. I’ve only just moved here so still finding my feet, but love that we are surrounded by all the film studios! Gives the place a real buzz!

What's your favourite thing about British style?

Individuality. There's no where else like it. We push boundaries, we are not afraid to try something new. Clashing prints, bright colours, but if anything it’s the British confidence that comes with it. Wear it and wear it proud!

What's your favourite place for food in the UK?

Kings Cross, there is this cute little Mexican under the bridge in coal drops yard which is my absolute go-to, but there are so many other yummy restaurants around there now!

What's the best thing about British fashion?

Innovation. We are not afraid to try something new, to go against the mould. To start a revolution. We don’t just copy, we create, and that comes from within!

Where can we find you on a Friday evening?

Passed out on my sofa! Ha! Between running this biz on my own, running after my almost 3 year old little girl and being pregnant, by Friday I am done for! But very happy to have a sofa date with my husband and catch up on the week.

Do you have a favourite UK-based fashion designer?

Oh, this is a tough one. There are so many, but what I love is the small brands that are coming up. That are doing their own thing in a completely different way.

What's in the pipeline for you and your brand?

So many exciting things coming up. We will be launching in independent boutiques in Australia next year, have an exciting concessions opening in a well know department store, and introducing a new product range!! Watch this space as this is our year!!
