CARE

This is made using a waxed cotton from Halley Stevenson, who have been making high quality cloth in Dundee since 1864. Inspired by Halley's 1910 patent for waterproofing textiles, this cloths finish is a combination of their driest wax and soft areo tumbling. Making it the perfect lightweight, breathable, weather repellent cloth for our coats. Over time the fabric will offer a soft aged appearance, keeping all the character of natural cotton.

Your garment can be hand washed at 30 degrees, line dried and lightly ironed on a cool setting.

It is recommended that you reproof your wax cotton garments regularly to extend its life. Contact us if you would like more information on reproofing or for specific care instructions relating to your garment.

Britain’s decision to leave the EU means significantly increased admin & shipping costs. Whilst we have passed on as little cost as possible to our customers, unfortunately, we have had to impose a minimum order value of £200 for orders from the EU. We are very sorry for this.

Designer Headshot

Step into the wonderful world of Kate Sheridan, where creations celebrate individuality, seamlessly blending classic techniques with a modern, functional aesthetic. What began in 2001 as an accessories brand has blossomed into a full-fledged fashion house, now offering ready-to-wear collections that let you flaunt the unique style of Kate Sheridan from head to toe.

In a world of mass production and here-today-gone-tomorrow trends, Kate Sheridan stands as a sparkling gem of sustainability and quality. Each piece is meticulously crafted to endure the test of time, becoming cherished items that can be passed down through generations. Proudly supporting British manufacturing, every item in the collection is made in England, embodying a commitment to traditional craftsmanship and high-quality, eco-conscious materials.

The accessories range is what shines sustainably brightest with use of ecological vegetable-tanned leathers. These leathers aren’t just friendly to the environment, they age like fine wine, developing a rich patina that adds heaps of character and uniqueness to each piece. Using plant-based tannins, this process dodges the harsh chemicals of commercial chrome dyeing making them much friendlier. Sourced primarily as a byproduct from cows in France and tanned in Italy's Pisa region, no two items are ever exactly alike… How's that for bespoke?

Another hero in the collection is waxed cotton, sourced from British Millerain and Halley Stevenson. This heritage fabric laughs in the face of our typically unpredictable British weather, so it might be one you’ll want to keep close throughout the summer months! Waxed cotton garments are designed to last and can be re-waxed for extended durability. For maintenance, simply sponge clean with water and allow mud or dirt to dry before brushing off… easy peasy.

Kate Sheridan’s collections have found fans among a number of stockists, but none more so than us here at YBD Finds. We really are her biggest supporters.
